    LEGENDS

How can intergenerational storytelling and digital literacy empower older adults to become active preservers and sharers of local cultural heritage?

Across Europe, older adults are being left behind as daily life moves online, cut off from services, from communication, and from participation in public life. At the same time, the lived memories and local knowledge they carry are disappearing quietly, while the gap between generations widens and the professionals meant to bridge these divides often lack the right tools to do so effectively. LEGENDS brings older adults and young people together in their own neighbourhoods to explore local landmarks, collect stories, and document them through photography and digital storytelling. Seniors build real digital confidence through activities that matter to them; young people take on a meaningful collaborative role; and educators receive structured training in inclusive, mixed-age facilitation. Everything connects.

    Outcomes & Resources

    Practical Facilitation Tool for Educators

Our practical facilitation tool offers a structured, practice-based pathway for designing and delivering intergenerational learning experiences rooted in digital literacy, storytelling, and community engagement, ideal for trainers and facilitators working with mixed groups of youth and older adults. Extra resources and practical guidelines are also included.

    Intergenerational Workshops and Local Tours

Workshops and local tours designed to bridge the gap between youth and older adults, through mutual exchange and hands-on learning. The sessions are tech-integrated to build older adults' digital skills, while bringing generations together to explore their cities side by side.

    Shared Online Cultural Map

A shared online cultural map that gathers stories, photos, and memories co-created by youth and older adults across partner countries, a living, growing repository of shared heritage and connection.

    E-Learning Platform for Adult Educators

The E-learning platform features six training modules ideal for those working in intergenerational settings. Alongside the core content, it offers extra resources and micro-credentials that recognize participants' learning and professional development.
