Notations: Interdisciplinary Lab

Hosq is inviting musicians, performers, sound artists, visual artists, and technologists to apply for the "Notations" interdisciplinary lab.

Participants will work with archival Armenian classical music, reinterpreting it through the lens of contemporary sound, media, and performance. The project aims to create new forms of dialogue between tradition and technology. The lab will culminate in a public showcase featuring live performances, installations, and sonic experiments. Selected projects will receive support for further international promotion.

Selected artists will receive:

✧ A full residency in Yerevan, Armenia

✧ Accommodation and meals throughout the program 

✧ Materials and neccessary equipment 

✧ Access to local archives and mentorship from curators and field experts

✧ The opportunity to present their project at the Armenian State Philharmonic and potentially at international festivals and platforms

To submit your application for the Summer Art Residency, follow these simple steps:

✧ Create Your Artit Portfolio – Upload your artworks, descriptions, a short bio, and any relevant links (social media, website, etc.).

This will serve as your application portfolio.

✧ Submit Your Work – Once your profile is complete, your submission will be reviewed and forwarded to the Florence Contemporary Art Gallery Team. If we need more information, our team will contact you to ensure your application is complete. 

Once you have submitted your work, the Artit team might reach out to you directly to ask for additional materials. 

The call is open to:

✧ Musicians, performers, composers, sound artists
(working with archives, technology, instruments, and voice)

✧ Media and visual artists
(video art, light, generative graphics, interactive formats)

✧ Engineers and technologists
(working at the intersection of art and new media)

Ideal participants should:

✧ Have at least 5 years of experience in their field (emerging artists are welcome).

✧ Individuals for whom art is a primary professional focus.

✧ Be curious, collaborative, and ready to experiment with new sound techniques and artistic forms.

✧ Be excited by the opportunity to develop projects that will be presented on international stages, released as albums, and tour the world.

The selection committee will evaluate applications based on creative potential, interdisciplinary approach, and collaborative spirit. Hosq is looking for artists with a strong voice, eager to take on the challenge of working in a cross-disciplinary environment. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an online interview. Final selection decisions will be announced by June 25.
