'ICONIC' Virtual Exhibition

Florence Contemporary Art invites artists from all corners of the creative cosmos to participate in our upcoming exhibition, "Iconic". This open call seeks to celebrate the infinite possibilities within artistic exploration and the boundless realms of human imagination.

The selected artists will participate in the Iconic group exhibition, get a certificate of participation, and get individual promotion on our website, on social media, in our newsletter, and through our community of collectors, curators, and art enthusiasts from across the world. The chosen artists will also have the chance to participate in other initiatives, such as having their biography and other works of art published in a catalogue, having a personal interview posted on our platforms, and receiving a proposal for a long-term partnership with our gallery.

All the services listed above will be carried out at a fee which will be applied only to selected artists in order to partially cover the cost.

To submit your application for the Summer Art Residency, follow these simple steps:

✧ Create Your Artit Portfolio – Upload your artworks, descriptions, a short bio, and any relevant links (social media, website, etc.).

This will serve as your application portfolio.

✧ Submit Your Work – Once your profile is complete, your submission will be reviewed and forwarded to the Florence Contemporary Art Gallery Team. If we need more information, our team will contact you to ensure your application is complete. 

Once you have submitted your work, the Artit team might reach out to you directly to ask for additional materials, including:

- Artwork information

- Artistic statement

All visual artists over the age of 18 from all artistic disciplines, regardless of medium or style, are invited to apply for this international open call. Images must be original artwork created by the artist and not copies of previously existing works. Each artist or collective can only apply once; subsequent applications will not be considered.

✧ Participation is free; only the selected artists will be charged a fee to partially cover the awards listed below. Selected artists are free to accept or refuse the fee and consequently the participation.

✧ The artwork will be judged based on the following criteria: originality, quality, inventiveness, theme interpretation, overall design, creative ability displayed, and media selection. The decision is determined by Florence Contemporary Gallery's internal curatorial staff with the assistance of outside specialists, and it is final and unquestionable.

✧ Based on the quality of each applicant's individual submission as well as the quality of their overall artistic practice, a shortlist of the best artworks will be created.
