Senior Artists for Climate Podcast

We're looking for two Greek-speaking senior artists to share their unique stories and perspectives on climate change for our upcoming podcast series as part of the Seniors Climate Action (SCA) Project. This initiative harnesses the creative influence of senior artists, empowering them to become champions of climate action and environmental awareness across Europe.

This call for art invites all Greek-speaking senior artists who focus on climate change or civic action in their artistic practice. We are particularly interested in hearing from those whose artwork seeks to provoke thought, spark dialogue, inspire change, or reflect their personal journey towards a more sustainable future.

Once your work is submitted, our team will review the entries and select two artists whose stories and works truly inspire change. Each selected artist will be featured in a dedicated podcast episode, where they will discuss their work and creative practice, and how it is helping to address climate change or encourage civic engagement, both within their immediate circle and the wider community.

Ready to apply? Follow these simple steps:

✧ Sign Up and Create an Artit Portfolio: Register on our platform and create your artist portfolio. Provide essential details such as your name, contact information, social media profiles, a website link - if available, and a brief artist biography. This allows us to gain insight into your background and artistic journey.

✧ Submit Your Artwork: To apply, select and submit artworks that best suit the theme. There is no limitation on how many projects or how many images per project you can submit. For each piece, please offer a thoughtful and detailed description. This information provides context and insight into your artistic process. More specifically, you’ll need to include each piece’s title, creation year, dimensions (in cm), medium used and a short description to provide context.

✧ Mindful Selection: When choosing which artworks to submit, select pieces that tell your story, prioritise the quality and impact of your work, and demonstrate your skill, creativity, and ability to engage and inspire viewers. Focus on your best works that you believe would make you stand out. 

✧ Expand Your Portfolio: Upload additional artwork to your portfolio, if you wish to give the Artit audience a better understanding of your overall style, values, preferred thematic interests, etc. This is your chance to showcase different facets of your artistic expression and have all your work compiled in one place for everyone to see. These can include pieces that align with the themes of social impact.  

Selected artists will be invited to take part in a dedicated podcast episode, hosted by Artit as part of the SCA project, where they’ll have the opportunity to share their artistic practice, the themes they address through their work, the impact they hope to make on their communities and the influence they want to have on fellow senior artists.

Eligibility Criteria:

✦ Greek-speaking senior artists (65+ years old).

✦ Artworks must address themes related to climate change or civic participation.

✦ Open to all artistic mediums (visual art, sculpture, photography, installations, mixed media, etc.).

✦ Artists should be passionate about using art as a means for societal change.
